COFICAB maintains its commitment to sustainable growth and innovation, intending to leave a better world to the next generations. Climate change is the biggest challenge of our time, we thus aim to achieve net zero CO2 emissions by 2050. To achieve this, we become more efficient in our production and energy usage, we will increase our use of renewable energies and we will focus on a circular economy that pays special attention to our product development. It intends to help our customers achieve their sustainability goals by improving the efficient use of resources and reducing our products’ carbon footprint.
COFICAB also aims at decreasing landfill waste by complying with the market’s constant demand for waste management (treating, valuing, and recycling). Our goal is to increase intensive employee awareness and ensure the correct recycling of certain wastes, such as non-conforming cables.
Our company also seeks to use greener and recycled raw materials to manufacture its products which close material loops (“close the loop”) or increase resource efficiency or material life (“extend the loop”).
To expand the alternative raw material supply base and, at the same time, contribute to the circular economy, COFICAB is constantly in contact with our raw material suppliers, looking for alternatives based on recyclable materials.
Our Circularity Approach
Circular economy means decoupling growth from resource consumption. Making the most of the planet’s finite resources, COFICAB fosters the circular economy by minimizing waste, maximizing resource efficiency, and creating value from renewable resources.
To minimize the exploitation of natural resources, 100% of the copper waste from Coficab is being recycled by our suppliers which avoids extracting the equivalent amount of primary copper from the mines
Additionally, COFICAB uses a multipurpose system to handle a variety of materials, including all types of cables and wires, proving the economic worth and potential for recycling certain wastes like non-conforming cable. With the help of this technology, businesses can give each item a fresh end of life while also promoting the circular economy and preventing landfill waste.
