BIOWASTE PILOT PROJECT

COFICAB partnered with Guarda’s Municipality to kick off the Biowaste Pilot Project as part of the Environment Week celebration.

COFICAB built, from wooden pallets, several compost bins to place organic waste that later on turns into compost – organic material that can be added to soil to help plants grow. The food scraps that we usually throw into the common garbage can be composted instead, keeping them out of landfills where they take up space and release methane.

These recycled bins are now placed at local schools and both COFICAB plants in Portugal.
